Enhancing Learning through Outdoor Experiences:
the impact on children’s progress
A one day course for teachers and practitioners in the Foundation Stage and KS1.

We will focus on:
- Research into the impact of outdoor experiences on learning.
- The special nature of outdoors.
- How to offer rich outdoor experiences for children of all ages, from babies to KS1 all year round.
- Planning to make full use of the outdoor environment to support all curriculum areas.
- The crucial role of the adult in supporting learning.
- Making sure the outdoors offer challenge and extends learning.
- Balancing risk and safety.
- Engaging parents in using the outdoors to support learning.
- Raising expectations and improving the quality of learning in your setting.
