Making the Learning Journey Work for You
A course for early years teachers and practitioners working in schools, nurseries and other under fives settings.
A learning journey is a celebration of a child’s achievements and interests during the time they spend in a setting and shows progress in the child’s learning and development. This is done through carefully chosen, dated and sequenced observations, annotated photographs, snapshots of significant achievements, and comments from the child, parents and carers with contributions from other settings the child attends.
We will focus on:
- Real, practical and manageable systems.
- Interweaving the Characteristics of Learning throughout the Learning Journey.
- How to annotate photographs and record observations in a meaningful way.
- How to engage the child’s voice.
- Sharing learning and development with parents.
- Opportunities to adapt and/or develop a model to use in your setting.
- How to establish starting points and track progress of individuals and groups of children.
