A one day course for Early Years Practitioners and Managers working with 2 year olds.

DFE 'A know how guide for 2 year old progress checks’ 2012
The EYFS requires all settings to provide a progress check for 2 year olds. How this is carried out and reported is for each setting to decide. This course provides clear guidance on effective practice with regard to the two year old check and related issues on sharing information with parents, carers and other professionals.
We will focus on:
The Two Year Old Check:

Course fees: £60 per delegate, £100 for two delegates from the same setting. This includes a sandwich lunch, tea, and coffee

- Systems for observing and monitoring children’s progress.
- What processes do we have for sharing information with parents and carers and other agencies involved with the child?
The Two Year Old Check:
- Principals to support the writing of the check
- Early identification of development needs
- How the voice of the child can be heard in the check
- The role of the emotionally responsive key person
- The need for an emotionally safe and independent environment where children can be active, relax, explore, and imagine.
