Teachers and Teaching Assistants; raising standards together.
This one day course is designed for head teachers, teachers and teaching assistants.
"Where overall negative impacts have been recorded, it is likely that support from TA’s has substituted rather than supplemented teaching from teachers. In the most positive examples, it is likely that support and training has been provided for both teachers and TAs so that they understand how to work together effectively’."
Suffolk Trust Trial (2013)
We will focus on:
- Understanding the crucial role of the teaching assistant.
- Establishing and maintaining relationships with children and adults.
- How planning and evaluating together impacts on progress and raises standards.
- Supporting children through learning activities.
- Understanding the need for a high quality learning environment and how this promotes teaching and learning.
- Ensuring that children can access the curriculum.
- Effective interventions and how these can narrow the gap.
